Corinthian Yacht Club (CYC) was founded in Washington, DC in 1903. We moved to our current clubhouse on Smith Creek in St. Mary's County, MD in 1971. We have approximately 115 members. Our close proximity to the mouth of the Potomac River and the Chesapeake Bay at Point Lookout makes us an ideal stop-over for both cruisers and fisherman pursuing the bay's bounty. When cruising on the bay, we are approximately 75 miles north of Hampton, VA and approximately 75 miles south of Annapolis, MD. Our physical plant encompasses approximately 20 waterfront acres improved by a large clubhouse, swimming pool, cooking facilities, picnic area, showers, ice, TV, trailer-boat launching ramp, land storage for trailers, etc. There are several restaurants and a supermarket nearby. We have 3 covered boathouses with slips that accommodate yachts to 50 feet. We also maintain 3 open docks with the capability of accommodating transient vessels up to 110 feet. Most of our docks have new 30-amp and 50-amp electrical service. Corinthian was recently designated a "Maryland Clean Marina" by the Maryland Department of the Environment. It is our understanding that we are only the second yacht club to earn this distinction. For cruise arrangements to Corinthian, contact our Measurer, Paul Altman at 301/718-9467 or
